It may be best when deciding to purchase a new Bible to get two Bibles. One that is more literal and one that is more readable. That way, but comparing both you can get the best of both worlds. It is NOT recommended that you even consider the TNIV or the NRSV as both have adopted gender neutral language as an accommodation to modern culture.

With that in mind, one recommendation would be to get a New American Standard (NAS) and a New International Version (NIV).

WHAT ABOUT THE KING JAMES VERSION?
